Pagoda Rocking Chair Workshop. Be a part of this six day workshop and take home a timeless rocking chair that you have crafted over a week with your own hands. 

Participants will be taken through traditional chair making processes; utilising a shavehorse to hand carve the 'green' spindles and crest rail- which is then steam bent on the first day of the class . All mortises are drilled by hand & eye and the seat carved with razor sharp edged tools only. You will use traditional chairmaker's tools like draw knives, spokeshaves, scorps,  travishers and tapered reamers  - leaving at the end of the week with a beautiful heirloom piece that will be passed down through generations.  * **You have the option of making a Pagoda Chair instead of a rocking chair on this workshop. **

All materials are included and all the tools required are supplied.

Workshop Cost: $1800. The deposit for this workshop is $800. The balance of $1000 is to be paid during the class. Coffee and tea is available all day, morning tea is provided; BYO lunch. 

TERMS & CANCELLATION POLICY:

Positions are strictly limited to six (6) people on this workshop. Due to course preparation and wait lists, if a position is cancelled less than four (4) weeks prior to the start date, we are sorry, but 50% of your deposit payment is not refundable. Many of our longer classes require participants to apply for leave (as you may have done) to attend and this cannot be done with short notice. You may transfer or pass on this course booking (for these dates only) to another person if you are unable to attend. If the course is unable to run and is cancelled by us, or you are unable to make it due to border lockdowns, 100% of your funds are refundable.
