A 'Perch' is a beautifully crafted three legged stool. Following on from our ever popular 3 day Perch Classes, the Perch Masterclass is an opportunity for those who have made a Perch previously to expand their creative horizons with this iconic, contemporary 3 legged stool.

Participants will have full creative licence to carve the seat to a variety of contours and shapes, subtly alter the rake & splay of legs, shape the legs in a multitude a varying finishes, hexagon, octagon, spokeshaved finish etc and finally adapt the stretcher system, in height, style and joinery detail of their choice.

This is a class specifically created for those that wish to broaden their Chairmaking skillset and create a truly individual chair of their own design. The course consists of turning at the lathe, seat carving and Windsor chairmaking joinery. This class is flexible in allowing extra workshop time for participants each day in the morning or late afternoon should they wish. All turning is done on the finest Australian made Vicmarc, variable speed  lathes in the best equipped Windsor Chairmaking workshop in the country.

Cost: $950 (3 full days - approx 24 - 28 hours, class begins at 9.00am) 

The cost includes all your materials and all tools are supplied. Tea & coffee available all day.  Morning tea provided. BYO Lunch. 

Location: Rundell & Rundell Workshop, Macedon Ranges, Victoria. 

* Participants must have completed a perch stool previously either in Australia or abroad.

Positions are strictly limited to four (4) people on this workshop.

Due to course preparation and current wait lists, if a position is cancelled less than four (4) weeks prior to the start date, we are sorry, but 50% of your payment is not refundable. Many of our longer classes require participants to apply for leave (as you may have done) to attend and this cannot be done with short notice. You may transfer or pass on this course booking (for these dates only) to another person if you are unable to attend.  If the course is unable to run and is cancelled by us 100% of your funds are refundable.
